Postgraduate (doctoral or Ph.D.) education is a level of basic higher education aimed at the personality development of a postgraduate and doctoral candidate, the implementation of their intellect and creativity, as well as the forming of professional skills in organising and doing scholarly research.

Applying
Foreign students applying for post-graduate studies must have a Master's degree. Candidate's exams and candidate's credit in general disciplines ( Philosophy and Methodology of Science, Foreign Language, Fundamentals of Information Technology) must be passed in Belarus before applying for PhD. Foreign citizens may submit documents for post-graduate courses during the whole academic year after primarily adjusting this with the International Relations Department of BSEU. Before applying foreign applicants must confirm that their foreign diplomas are equivalent to corresponding Belarusian diplomas according to the law-approved procedures.
In Belarus foreign educational documents are recognized by the Foreign Credentials Assessment Department, the National Institute for Higher Education.

Foreign citizens are admitted for post-graduate study for payment without taking the entrance exams. The ability for scientific and research work and sufficiency of knowledge of the language is determined during the interview.
